In the second Twenty20 International of the seven-match series, Pakistan thrashed England by ten wickets thanks to Babar Azam’s unbeaten 110 off just 66 balls. Babar and Mohammad Rizwan were unaffected by the 200-run mark as Pakistan completed the chase with three balls remaining. Rizwan continued to stay undefeated with 88 from 51 deliveries. Pakistan’s victory brought the series to a 1-1 tie going into the third game on Friday. Earlier, in Karachi, England destroyed Pakistan with a solid score of 199 for five in 20 overs, thanks to stand-in skipper Moeen Ali’s excellent 55 off just 23 balls. Moeen set Pakistan a goal of 200 by hitting four fours and as many sixes.

Babar joined forces with opener Mohammad Rizwan to lead the Green Army’s batting attack in the second T20I of the white-ball series on Thursday. The two took the formidable England bowlers to task. Rizwan resumed his prolific scoring streak by recording a critical half-century as Babar smashed a spectacular century. The attitude in the dressing room was that we could track it down since we had done it before, according to the conversation. Under lights, the wicket usually performs better, exceeding our expectations. To end the contest, discussions with Rizwan were held. I always maintained the conviction that you need as a sportsman, even amid the stretch of poor results.

IND vs AUS

The first T20I between India and Australia was played on September 20 at Mohali’s IS Bindra Stadium. The third T20I will be played on September 25 in Hyderabad, and the second T20I will be played on September 23 in Nagpur. Australia presently has a 1-0 series lead after winning the opening T20I by a margin of five wickets. India last competed in the Asia Cup in 2022, losing two out of three games in the super four stage and could not go past the semifinals. In July–August 2022, India last faced the West Indies in a T20I series. India defeated the visiting West Indies 4-1 in the five-game series.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma casually stated that he had discovered the “90-95 per cent” core of his squad for the World Cup following humiliating setbacks in the Asia Cup. A few weeks later, India’s death bowling is still being discussed in great detail. The search for death over specialists is officially on following India’s failure in the death overs on two separate occasions this month.

Australia has indicated that they would arrive in Mohali in high gear. The Indian team may turn to its tried-and-true bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah and Deepak Chahar. They are in the running for the World T20 to halt their onslaught and possibly level the three-match series on Friday at Nagpur’s Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA), Jamtha.
